Challenge
Over three years the Additive Companion team had built a curated collection of close to 500 additive manufacturing applications, first on Glide and then on Bubble. The content was valuable, but the platform could not support the next step: a commercial launch where providers register and pay to be visible, and where users find the right application, technology or partner through good search and filters.

Solution
We started with the redesign and the user journey, then moved the platform from Bubble to code: Next.js, Supabase and Vercel. For the data migration, every legacy record went through import scripts with a traceable ID, and open taxonomy questions went to the client as a proposed mapping instead of being guessed. On top came smart search and filters, a provider directory with claimable profiles, submissions from users and providers, and community features.

Results
The redesigned Additive Companion marketplace went live on 22 October 2026. Engineers, designers and decision makers can now find real additive manufacturing applications and the providers behind them in one place. Providers claim their profile and publish their own work.
